H.R. 5845 - Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act of 2020

We have said it before and we will say it again - we are drowning in plastic and it is not going away. Please call your member of Congress in support of H.R. 5845 - Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act of 2020. Because as Rep. Katherine Clark has said "Plastics are one of the leading contributors of carbon dioxide production in the world, and the United States either disposes of or incinerates approximately 32 million tons of plastic each year. Plastic items can last for thousands of years without degrading, and they have a massive impact on the environment compared to items made from more easily recyclable materials...92 percent of U.S. plastic waste is never recycled. We must shift the burdens of plastic waste cleanup to the corporations that produce this waste and reform the nation’s recycling collection system to help turn the tide against plastic pollution and, ultimately, climate change."
