Reusable Bags and COVID-19

So during this pandemic, stores have disallowed reusable bags. That would appear to mean that we are all stuck getting new bags for each grocery store visit. As it turns out, that is not exactly true. One can't bring reusable bags into the store but one can have reusable bags in the car. As heard through the grapevine the other day - just load your groceries into a cart, take them to your car, and put them in your reusable bag! Problem solved - at least for the grocery bags. One might still want to bag the produce to avoid picking up freeloader germs but at least this "bag your own" approach will save a good number of bags.
