It is not uncommon to hear a person say "I'm just one person. What difference can I make?". Well, if you ever wonder about the difference that one creature can make, spend the night in a room with a mosquito. Here is an article about a man named Afroz Shah that started cleaning a beach in India. People started to join him in the activity and they called these events "dates with the ocean"! After 21 months of toil, they picked up 11,684,500 pounds of trash, most of it plastic, that had accumulated along the shoreline. For his vision and hardwork, the UN awarded him the “Champion of the Earth” award. Baby turtles have now returned to the beech, which brought tears to Shah's eyes (and now mine). Let's all try to emulate Shah and take on a project. We can do this. For details about this project, see https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/mumbai-beach-clean-up-turtles-2/
